About us
CardRules+ is a free encyclopedia of card game rules, available as a website and a mobile app. We cover 347 games, from household classics like Poker, Rummy, and Hearts to regional favorites such as Scopa, Skat, Jass, and Truco.
Our goal is simple: when you sit down to play, you should find clear, accurate rules in seconds, not wade through ads, pop-ups, or rambling blog posts.
Why we built this
Card games are one of the oldest shared pastimes in the world, but most rules references online are either outdated text-only sites, single-brand marketing pages, or buried inside lifestyle blogs. We wanted a modern, fast, mobile-friendly reference that treats rules as a first-class product rather than an afterthought.
Our coverage
We include 347 games spanning more than 25 countries and cultures. Every game has a full ruleset, a quick-reference cheat sheet (goal, setup, turns, scoring, and tips), historical and cultural context, strategy notes, and variant suggestions. We add new games regularly and keep existing ones current as variants evolve.
7 languages, not just English
Every game is fully translated into English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Dutch. That is the entire 347-game library in each language, not a machine-translated summary. We believe card game rules should be readable in your own language, whether you are playing Belote in Paris or Briscola in Naples.
How the rules are written
Rules are written from scratch by our team, cross-checked against multiple authoritative sources, and refined over time based on player feedback. Where regional or house rules differ significantly, we note the variants rather than pretending one version is definitive.
Editorial standards
We do not accept paid placements in game pages or guides. Advertising is clearly marked and never replaces editorial content. If a game has a sponsored tournament, product, or affiliate link, we disclose it.
Who we are
CardRules+ is built by BDG Apps, a small independent developer. We also make companion apps such as ScoreLog for tracking scores during play.
